On behalf of SIRE, we invite you to support and attend this year’s SIRE Under the Stars gala on Friday, April 20, 2018 at River Oaks Country Club beginning at 6 p.m. as we honor and celebrate this year’s honoree, Lynn Walsh. Lynn is a graduate from the University of Texas, a mother of two sons, a wife, professional volunteer, accomplished equestrian and has been the President of The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show Association for the past 11 years where millions of dollars have been raised to help heal sick children. Her passion for horses and dedication to helping children mirrors SIRE’s goal to help improve the lives of those with special needs by partnering horse and rider.
The rider-horse relationship is a powerful bond involving: strength, understanding, and mutual trust which encourages motivation rarely found in conventional forms of therapy. SIRE has three locations in the Greater Houston Community, providing weekly therapeutic activities and therapies for 280 riders through individually designed horsemanship programs. Specially trained horses are used during each session to support and improve physical, cognitive, and emotional healing year round. The success of this program has seen first steps taken from a wheelchair to first words spoken.
Your support will provide scholarships and training equipment for riders as well as provide services and materials necessary to maintain the health and integrity of our horses. Please find enclosed the benefits and reply form for your review and consideration. We hope you will embrace this opportunity to help SIRE further its mission. The favor of your response is requested by Thursday, March 7 in order to be included in the invitation.
Join us for this entertaining evening and begin changing lives. The evening will include a silent and live auction and the “Build a Cellar” wine experience. You and your guests will dance the night away to the Spazmatics while benefiting a pivotal and essential organization in our community. We look forward to you joining us on April 20 for such a deserving cause.
