Dear Friends:

We are excited to announce the details of this year's SIRE Under the Stars virtual gala that will be held on Thursday, April 29.

Gather your closest friends or family for a watch party in the privacy of your home! You decide the attire and theme, and we will provide the live entertainment, surprise celebrity appearances, a silent and live auction and much more. We can even provide cocktails, an appetizer and dinner all delivered to your door. You can even have a chef prepare your dinner for you in your home! Proceeds from this virtual event will provide critical financial support to continue to help maintain the health of the specially trained horses, provide scholarships for riders, and support our therapeutic riding, equine-assisted learning (EAL) and equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) programs. 

SIRE, renowned for its successful therapeutic riding programs, has broadened services to meet the urgent need for behavioral and mental health healing in the Greater Houston Community. In an EAL setting, equine-human interaction is guided by a planned learning experience to meet the identified goals and desires of the participant(s). Life skills such as; Turn-taking, patience, empathy, teamwork and problem-solving, controlling emotions, and communication, give participants the tools to navigate life more fully.  Meaningful relationships with horses require a person to be self-aware, regulated, empathetic, open to an authentic relationship, and responsible. Horses use mostly non-verbal communication and are acutely in-tune with human behavior. This teaches participants how non-verbal communication is impacting or influencing others in their lives.
