The date is set! The venue secured! Question is will you be there? SIRE Under the Stars will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the River Oaks Country Club beginning at 6:30 p.m. We are extremely excited about this year's event and invite you to join us at this fun-filled evening.

At SIRE we provide a community where horses help people with disabilities and challenges to live their best life through equine-assisted programs to children-at-risk, veterans, and people with physical, social, emotional, or mental challenges. Proceeds from this event will provide the necessary financial support not just for these programs but for upgrades and renovations to our facilities, and help maintain the health of our specially trained horses.

Your donation today will ensure SIRE continues to provide life-changing programs for children like Lauren who was born with Cerebral Palsy. When she came to SIRE at 8 years old she had developmental delay and speech impairment. Within a year Lauren was speaking and able to communicate without the use of her handheld communication device. 16 years later she is still riding at SIRE and continues to grow physically and mentally through the riding program at SIRE.

Lauren's horse plays a critical role in her success. SIRE maintains a wide variety of horses to meet the physical and emotional needs of each rider and each horse is specially trained to handle an array of noises, quick motions, and unexpected actions that can arise during any session. Our herd is aging which means our veterinary expenses are increasing.

This year, we are seeking sponsorship of our herd. With over 30 horses ridden by more than 200 riders a week, it takes a lot to care for them and ensure they maintain good health throughout the year. When a horse falls lame and is removed from the program to heal, it means another horse must fill the void by working additional classes. Imagine if we had multiple horses unable to work and the impact it would have on our riders. We are diligent in making sure the herd is cared for inside and out by providing supplements, diets, and routine check-ups. This is a major portion of our annual budget that cannot be compromised.
